First time for a long time I found a store with a lot of products from Peru, i traveled a long distance to visit Utah and I was so glad I could buy many of my Peruvian cookies, drinks, seasonings, and more.

After falling in love with Peruvian toasted corn, I realized it could easily be prepared at home, and was on the hunt for a store that might sell it. We have many Mexican and Latin markets in SLC, and most of them probably would have had it, but I was so excited to find La Pequenita, who specializes in South American groceries. Located right off State Street, I'd actually driven by the store many times, but due to their rather sad and downtrodden exterior, never paid it any mind. Inside, it is absolutely packed full of stuff! So many spices, beans, and rice, packaged cookies, candies, chocolate, and other treats, loads of soft drinks, cheese, jarred hot peppers, sauces, and other condiments, frozen tropical fruit pulp, La Michoacana paletas, and most importantly, they had my cancha corn...like ten varieties! I grabbed two bags, some Aji Amarillo paste to make Aji Verde, these yummy peanut treats, and a couple chocolates at the front counter. I didn't see the paletas until after I'd checked out or definitely would have grabbed one, and I missed the whole south end of the store, but I'll be back and make sure to spend more time in exploration. There was just one employee working, and she spoke little English, but we figured it out, and she was very nice. Prices are super reasonable. Parking is kind of meh, but I was able to easily find a spot along the street, it is just busy there, so not ideal.

This market is the hidden gem for cheap imported Brazilian goodies. I'm always here checking on what's new! For some reason the price point is so cheap compared to other Brazilian stores! You have to go all the way to the back when you come in because that's where the shelves with all the yummy stuff is... The staff speaks Spanish but they are super friendly and should understand you. Seriously go in there and buy: Guaraná, ouro branco, pão de queijo, passatempo to name a few...

I've been here several times over a few years to get Brazilian items--frozen cheese rolls and Guarana drinks plus bottles of Mexican sangria soda, etc. They have ingredients, cereals, drinks, desserts, and other items from South American countries. Good location with parking on state street or in a small lot south of the store.

I purchased my first Yerba Mate set here. They were very informative and extremely friendly. This is a great little market for purchasing Yerba!

I was really happy to see a decent selection of Brazilian products. Especially chocolate Easter eggs! Now if you have never had a Brazilian Easter egg than you are in luck. They are awesome and huge! But they are seasonal, Easter season after all. Prices aren't cheap but they aren't expensive. Considering this is the states I think the prices are actually pretty fair. Well, except the Antarctica guarana. That is just so expensive. They also have serenada de amor (bom bom). The store is small but a good selection of South American inventory. Parking is limited but you can always park on the side of the road. The store isn't too hard to spot but you do need to keep your eye out for it. I actually missed it my first trip and had to circle around.
